Results and Strategies Open-Source Genomics To investigate the evolutionary origins and pathogenic potential of the outbreak strain, we set in motion an open-source genomics system of study that incorporated new high-throughput sequencing approaches, public data release, and rapid outsourcing of analyses to bioinformaticians worldwide . At first, we sequenced the genome of the isolate from the 16-year-old young lady , using the Ion Torrent Personal Genome Machine , and acquired an initial draft of the genome 3 times after receipt of the DNA sample. Three DNA libraries had been ready and seven sequencing runs performed, following protocols of the maker , to generate 79 Mb of sequence data, with the average read length of 101 bp. We released these data in to the public domain under a Creative Commons 0 license, which elicited a burst of crowd-sourced, curiosity-driven analyses completed by bioinformaticians on 4 continents.11 Twenty-four hours after the release of the genome, it had been assembled; 2 days after its dissemination, it had been assigned to an existing sequence type.Navy and 3 years as a officer in Atlanta. AACN Effect Research Grants support clinical inquiry that drives switch in high acuity and essential treatment nursing practice. Priority projects address gaps in medical research at the organization or program level and translation of the results to bedside clinicians. Projects include use of technology to assess individuals and manage outcomes; methods to create a healing and humane environment; and systems and processes to optimize high acuity and critical care nursing.
